The problem
HR portals have an adoption problem. Employees don’t log in to check leave balances or read policy documents. HR teams spend hours answering routine questions that are already documented. The information exists — employees just don’t access it because the friction is too high.
What we built
An AI HR assistant for Seffo.com integrated directly into WhatsApp and other messaging platforms employees already use. Employees ask HR questions in natural language through WhatsApp — leave requests, policy questions, payslip queries — and get instant accurate responses. The AI connects to HR systems to pull real-time data.
What changed
Employees engage with HR through a channel they already use daily. Leave requests that previously required portal logins happen in a WhatsApp message. HR teams spend less time on routine queries and more time on the work that requires human judgment.
The honest part
Messaging-based AI needs clear boundaries. The system needs to know what it can answer automatically and what needs a human. We built explicit escalation paths — complex or sensitive queries route to HR staff automatically.
